Taking the blog on the road!
This upcoming weekend is a busy one for me, Sara Keagle (theflyingpinto.com) and Gailen David (theskysteward.com). We’re taking our blogs on the road and bringing the message of better travel and jetiquette to television audiences across the country!
We’re all so excited that we’ve been given these opportunities to share our insight and tips with everyone! Our first stop is Charlotte, North Carolina. I haven’t been to Charlotte in years, but it is one of my most favorite cities. Everyone is genuinely nice, happy and willing to help. The city its self, in my opinion, hosts the best BBQ I’ve had (I know I’m going to get mail on that one!) and has one of the easiest airports to connect through in the country. I’m so excited to get there, even though we don’t have much time to go into the city, I’m excited to see Sara and Gailen and hang out in our hotel. We’re staying at a StayBridge Suites near the television studio, and it looks amazing. I promise to post about it while we’re there.
After Charlotte, Sara heads home for a quick break while Gailen and I jet off to Tampa, so that I can tape a follow-up appearance on the nationally syndicated show Daytime and Gailen’s coming along so on a later episode we can introduce the Daytime audience to Jetiquette. I don’t know where we’re staying in Tampa yet, we haven’t gotten that far with working out the details but it would be nice to have some time to walk along the beach or something. Trust me, there’s a lot of sand here in Phoenix, but not a lot of that wet stuff.. I wan’t to enjoy it while I’m there.
Once we wrap in Tampa, Gailen and I both head home for a day off, and then Sara and Gailen both fly out here to Phoenix to position themselves on Sunday so we can appear on a television show on Monday. I think this trip has more flying in it than either of them have seen in a long time! We actually have a lot of downtime here in Phoenix, which is nice! I have a car, an apartment that’s in shambles (to the point where I’m almost afraid to bring them over.. I’m moving, what do you expect?), and the knowledge of what’s around. Hopefully in addition to the show we’ll be able to tape a few more of our “Tips from Above” segments. They’re so much fun to do, because it takes us like 40 minutes to shoot 1 good minute of footage. Usually we’re just drinking and having fun with it.
Anyway, after we film here in Phoenix and Sara & Gailen go home, I’m packing up the rest of my apartment and driving to Los Angeles. As of December 15th, this blog is officially home officed in Los Angeles. It’s quite the undertaking moving from Phoenix to LA on a flight attendant’s budget, but I think I should be able to pull it off. The day after I take “delivery” of the keys to my apartment, the 16th, I work a 4 day trip. So, there’s no time to enjoy it!
So there you have it! Our schedule for the next 5 days! Hopefully you’ll be able to catch one of the appearances we’re doing. It’s always fun when I hear from you that you’ve seen a segment and I don’t look the way you pictured me (though, I’m afraid to learn how some of you picture me). I’ll keep you updated on air dates and times!
Have a great week!
