Flight Attendant RVs
Some people tow their RV behind their car on vacation, but flight attendants pull theirs behind them. What am I talking about? Their luggage of course!
Flight Attendant’s are away from home upwards of 3 days at a time and need some necessities and items from home. Hence, they pack and tug their RV with them when at work.
You’ve seen them in the airports and at some hotels. Some RVs are small, some are larger, and some have so many pieces it almost looks like a tank barreling through the terminal. It’s kind of interesting to see what flight attendants take with them on their trips, and how they make it all fit.
In response to my post A Flight Attendant’s RV, some other Flight Attendant bloggers and twitter users decided to share their photos and provide information about their own RVs! (click the photos to visit their blogs or twitter pages)
Ms. Amelia Kelly from "In Case of Emergency.." is the latest to upload photos of her RV. Amelia unzips and shows us what she packs.. and even took a very classy photo of her RV waiting on the train platform. Click on the photo to get a better look and to see/read more.
Kim, from the blog "Four Feet in the Air," accepted the FA RV challenge and shared some photos of her (broken) RV! Click the photo to find out exactly what you're looking at!

Sodwee, the author of the Flight Attendant blog "Airboy," has opened up his RV! He has posted a blog showcasing the various items he packs for trips and labeled them for easy viewing! Click the photo above to check it out!

- Unzipped! Our first peek inside of an RV comes from Brad (@brajit on twitter and author of the blog “Pop Slingers Paradise”). Brad says, “I carry my 3 bags, a 20″ roller, a tote, and the Ebags lunch cooler (which I do fill with food).” He puts his required items in the front pocket of his tote and fills the rest of the space with his textbooks. He says he travels lightly “so I can consolodate when nonrevving on other airlines…my bag has 1 change of clothes, and of course, fresh socks, undies, and t-shirts for the rest of the days, plus 1 extra….never carry too much, the tote bag is always heavier than my roller.” – Thanks Brad!
Note: You can view full size images of Brad’s RV by clicking here.
- Megan over at “Through the Lens: The Friendly Skies” also replied with photos of her RV. She says she travels with her rollerboard filled with clothes, makeup, etc. Her flight bag filled with all of her required equipment such as magazines, iPod… just kidding.. but those are in her flight bag as well along with her medicine cabinet. And her last bag is her food bag.
So, now I’m extending the call for more photos of RVs! I’m curious (as are other flight attendants) what you’re packing! Unzip and show us what you’ve got! What’s really in there? What’s in there that you FORGOT is in there? If you choose not to unzip, you’re still invited to share a general photo and explanation of what your trailing behind you.
Feel free to post your submissions to your blog and let me know it’s location via email at email@upupandagay.com, or if you don’t have a blog, feel free to email me your photos and story and I’ll post it here!
