Married in New York? Honeymoon in the Dutch West Indies!
The Queens Garden Resort in Saba is celebrating the passing of the marriage equality law in New York state by offering a honeymoon travel package for gay newlyweds!
From now through December 15, 2011 newlyweds can present their marriage certificate from New York state and receive one night free and one free breakfast in bed. Of course, the marriage certificates have to be dated July 24th or later (since the law doesn’t go into effect until the 24th). Also, a minimum four night stay is required, so three need to paid for on your own.
Personally, I usually go for Last Minute Holiday Deals but until I read this I knew nothing about the West Indies (since they’ve never come up in a search) but now I want to go! Saba is located about 30 miles east of St. Maarten (which has that awesome beach with the planes landing over it) and Saba is known for being gay friendly with members of government living openly.
The resort, though, is, well, “fit for a queen” (yes, pun intended!), built about 1200ft above sea level and has about 12 suites (that are a whole floor long) and ten of them have jacuzzi’s inside.
