Headed to Charlotte? Stay at Staybridge Suites in Arrowood

Earlier last week Sara Kealge, Gailen David and I went to Charlotte to appear on the television show “Charlotte Today.” While in Charlotte we were generously hosted by the Staybridge Suites Charlotte/Arrowood.

My first impression after walking in the front door was, “Wow.” It looks as though you entered someones home, and instantly gives you a great feeling about the property. Not to mention, at the current moment, it’s beautifully decorated for the holidays.

We headed straight over the front check in desk, which was more like a casual desk with stools. The staff was very welcoming, warm and funny. We shared a few jokes back and forth and before heading to our room they informed us that complimentary tuna pitas along with beer and wine was available in the main room if “you want to join us.” And, they weren’t kidding. The staff was mingling with the hotel guests in the room and created an amazing atmosphere.

Once I reached my room and opened the door, I had much of the same experience I had walking in the front door of the hotel. Each room features a desk, sofa, large bathroom, an extremely comfortable bed (at first I didn’t think I’d like the pillows on the bed, but wow I was proven wrong!) and best of all a mini-kitchen! Staying in a hotel with a kitchen helps cut the costs of eating out and offers you the small conveniences of home when on the road.

Once I got settled in I picked up the hotel guide for a quick look over and saw that the back of the guide actually has recipes for meals that you can make in your kitchen. Amazing!

The spacious rooms provide for a relaxing retreat or for a fun get together with friends.

The hotel overall was absolutely amazing. The look, feel and hospitality we encountered from the second we arrived was top notch. Best of all, the hotel rates at the hotel are economical and perfect for any traveler.

    Glad you had a positive experience with Staybridge Suites. I stayed at a Staybridge Suites in Burlington, Mass. (western Boston suburb) and had the same experience you did.

    Caution – that free booze at the reception makes you and Sara blurry! That’s actually really nice, and reminds me of the Wednesday-night manager’s cocktail hour the Holiday Inn Tewksbury had when I was traveling there a lot for business in the mid ’90s. The munchies were cheese cubes and veggie trays and so-so meatballs; tuna pitas sound like fun!

    But this also sounds a lot like what Embassy Suites does. That and Residence Inn are two of the suites brands I’ve stayed in. No objection to trying one of these next time!

    This is a general Staybridge. Its a new enough brand that the developers have not really branched out and added their own touches to the design of the hotel (not saying its a bad thing.) I personally prefer Homewood Suites, but thats just because they offer a better selection of food and slightly larger rooms, but they are definitely better than Residence Inn.
