On airport sit times, yes, you can read and use your computers. Just out of the view of passengers. Nothing can be done in front of them.

At my airline we never had these as it was a long haul service, but where do you hang around!?!? Does the airline have a crew room or do you just ince around the terminal?

I had a 3 hour sit in IAH yesterday. I’m usually an international reserve, but I don’t mind the occasional domestic trip. This one however was the most unproductive I’ve ever had.

Yeah, those long sits suck; 1.5 hours is as long as I like them. But you’re per diem is $.30 higher than mine. I’m jealous.

Very well put. We call ours Productivity Breaks. I have a really good one for you. We flew into Boston last Nov with 5hrs and 22 minutes on the ground to fly to D.C. and back for the overnight. If we had gotten there 8 minutes earlier, we could have checked in early to the room (right on property) and then just come back down for the o/b to D.C.!

I also remember years ago when they put our first
Auntie Anne’s and there was a rumor that we could work there during these breaks. Of course it was a big fat lie! They could have paid me in pretzels back then.

Now, I simply use those breaks to write and read other blogs. I am so excited that I found yours. Have a great new year and happy and safe flying!
