I’m sorry for the delay between posts, it has been a crazy week! I flew to San Jose, CA Tuesday (10/13) afternoon to spend the night with a classmate of mine so that I could attend my yearly recurrent class. Recurrent is something I *do not* look forward to. I think it’s something to do with the pressure that, should you mess up, your job is ultimatly on the line. I know my job functions, responsbilities, and requirements, but to put them to the ultimate test is scary.
I will admit, however, this year– wasn’t so bad! We were tested on the aircrafts emergency equipment as well as fire fighting, water “landings,” security issues and HAZMAT materials. Luckily, the instructor was very non-intiminating and coaching, but made the 2 days sail by a bit better. After recurrent, I jumped back on an airplane, home to Phoenix for a 14 hour layover. Unpacked, did laundry, repacked, kissed the boyfriend, then got back on an airplane headed back to San Francisco.
My friends and I went to see Pam Ann Live. It was awesome! Well worth the trip and the money. She is amazingly funny, and you can tell she truly enjoys what she does. She did make fun of my airline, which was one of the best parts of the night. Believe it or not, as I was headed to my seat someone sitting in the same row as me reconginized me as the author of this blog! How nuts is that! I never got your name, but if you’re reading this.. send me an email! His friends, one of which sat next to me, worked for United and we shared some laughs together talking about the industry in general. Something I loved, and never thought of before, was when Pam “took off” and started her cabin service. She pushed the cart down the aisle to the song “Circus” by Britney Spears, truly a sight to see.
Anyway, I’m in the middle of a 4 day right now. I chose to work right after the show this way it made my commute back to SFO worth it. However, I haven’t been home in 4 days already and won’t be home until Wednesday. I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed and see the other half.

Ohhh I am jealous, I want to go see Pam Ann so bad! Glad that you had a good time and that recurrent was not too bad. (Just had mine, wasn’t too horrible either).
Yay…I’m glad to hear you had a great time at the show…we’re gearing up here in Houston for tomorrow nights show!!
Congrats, on another year of recurrent…don’t want to make you too jealous but we got ours bumped down to one day;-) I highly recommend putting the pressure on to get yours to one day..it is divine!
Oh, and I loooove that you were recognized…how does it feel to be a celeb?;-)
OMG it was weird! LOL I didn’t expect anyone to ever recognize me from this blog!
just ran across your blog this morning and have been catching up on posts. Wasn’t Pam Ann wonderful? I flew to Miami with friends and saw here live there. (only bad part was no drinks in the Colony Theater LOL)
Look foward to reading your future posts!
I am loving reading your blog. After retiring after 30 years of flying for UAL. It’s fun to remember the good, the bad and the ugly of our flying careers!! Sometimes I long for the “old days”, but then I remember commuting to work, the weather delays, being away from home days at a time, bidding, trip trading, and RET. Then I realize that I’m glad I’m retired. But I do miss the flying pals. The inflight friends were the BEST!!
